Stardate:2406.05.15 (Starfleet Academy, Seahawk Shuttle Port, Ensign BigWill Kinkaid – 19.45) After receiving his assignment orders, Kinkaid was still trying to comprehend the notion that he had graduated and had been promoted at the same time. The daze of confusion had faded back to normal reality. Ensign Kinkaid took his new responsibilities with pride and dignity. Going through the Academy wasn’t an easy task. Now, a graduate and a newly commissioned Ensign junior grade in Starfleet, Ensign BigWill Kinkaid was looking forward in an adventure aboard the USS Nimitz as the assistant chief medical officer. NRPG: I’ve been a long time Star Trek fan and to be part of this role-playing adventure is amazing and an honor. RPG: The shuttle port computer voice echoed through the docking pads that an incoming craft was approaching and that all personnel stand clear until the craft has completed docking. Ensign Kinkaid stood up and waited for the shuttle to dock before boarding. (Reply by CO Sash, Any) (posted by Nathan M. He noticed the woman standing next to the captain, a Lt. or Lt. Cmdr. he couldn't see the rankpips perfectly. "I'd like to introduce you to our First Officer," Sash said, "Lt. Commander Vanyssa Winters. Lt. commander, this is Enssign Tannasg, our new Ops officer." Vanyssa nodded at him. "Would you like to take a little bit of a walk with me, Ensign? I think that you might be a little confused about why my daughter acted the way she did. And it will take a little bit of an explanation." "Very well." Tannasg replied, as he followed Vanyssa away from Sash, wondering what was to come now. A 'camping trip' was a new experience to him, the 'volleybal' was unknown. I was the Nimitz's Counsellor for several years." She began. "The little girl who ran away from the campground with the baby is my adopted daughter, Jennah Winters-Dark. About a year ago, the Nimitz was invaded by a group of Romulans, who began to systematically kill everyone that they came across in an attempt to take over the ship. Jennah had been told that whenever she saw a romulan to go run and hide, and not draw attention to herself in the process -- in fact, all the children aboard the Nimitz were told that, especially the telepathic ones that could be warned. The Nimitz was invaded about two months ago, this time by counterparts of current crewmembers from the alternate universe." Vanyssa turned to Tannasg. "Can I have some pancakes too?" She asked Orkney. She knew he made flowers, but not how. “Yes you can, I had made some for a small army here.” He took a plat and put 2 pancakes on it. “Will it be enough for a growing girl like you?” He smiled. Jennah nodded. "Can I have more if I want them?" She asked, picking up the butter and lathering it on, then the maple syrup. "My Daddy said that this was how the people on Old Earth had their meals when they were exploring the old west. Is that true?" She asked, sitting down on a rock and taking a big bite out of the pancake. “Yes, that's the way it was on Earth, it was a hard time.” He gave her another pancake. “The West offered a lot of hope, new territory and all but also a lot of hidden dangers.” "Like what?" Jennah asked. History interested her, something that she had picked up from David. “There was Amerindians. They had a bad start with a lot of the tribes that existed, some got decimated completely. Religion got in the way, and as belief goes, it gets in the way of richness in knowledge the natives had, a lot of it vanished forever. Man always felt the need to know and explore there environment, and they often get into trouble. She nodded and looked over at her tent. "Are you going back up soon?" She asked. "Vanyssa isn't around, and Katie... is.. well... occupied." And Jennah blushed. "And uhmm, can I hitch a ride back?" She asked, looking up at him with knowledge that NO ten year old should ever possess. Richard gave a look at Onyx. A bit surprised has they probably thought. ~They didn't waist any time.~ “Ok, eat up your breakfast and get yourself ready to transport, but I would like you to warn Vanyssa or Katie before we go. I don't want you or me to be in trouble with them.” Jennah nodded and finished her breakfast then came running back with her stuff. "Now can we go?" She asked, a little bit impatient. She hadn't contacted either, but she had made it seem like she has "Katie asked me to take Vanyssa's stuff up." She said, accounting for all the baggage. “I see that.” Richard look at Onyx, she was ready too, he never saw anyone wrapping up camp that quickly before. “I guess we are ready.” Richard tap his combadge and said. “Orkney to Nimitz, three people are ready to come on board right now.” =/\=We will get a transporter lock on you in a few seconds.=/\= It didn't take long they were back inside the Nimitz. (USS Nimitz – Transporter room 3 – 1045) “Here we are... will you be able to manage back to your quarters Jennah?” Ask Richard a bit concern seeing all the baggages. Jennah nodded, lugging the bag away. "I'll be fine!" She said. "Thanks, Mr. Plant Man!" Onyx couldn't help but laugh and Richard look at the little girl with a smile. “Well, you're welcome little lady!” he said with a fake southern accent. Jennah giggled and hurried off. Onyx walk up to the console and tap into communication. Richard was wondering what she was doing. “Onyx to Counsellor Winters. Just to let you know that Jennah is back on board the Nimitz.” =/\=Thank you Onyx. Vanyssa out.=/\= Vanyssa's words said, but they were very distant, and she didn't sound like herself. Onyx turn off communication, with a weird look on her face. “Humm... that is a bit weird. What do you think?” “There is something going on with are Counselor alright. I know that she is really close to the Captain and I don't know about him, he seem to have struck something with Kestra.” “The second emotion I hate the most after pity, it's jealousy, and no one can control that. Let's go, we have stuff to do.” Stardate:2406.05.16 (USS Nimitz - FO Quarters -CO Captain Sash & FO Vanyssa Winters- 1200) Reports had been coming in that the crew was beginning to return from the camp out. He recieved a meesage marked personal and urgent. It was from Kestra Troi. Sash smiled, half happy and half disappointed that it wasn't from Nessa. The message was simple. "Dinner, my place, 1900, Kestra." After Sash sent his reply he thought for a momment. It was rediculous that he was feeling the way he was with Nessa, and not doing anything about it. It was also out of character. he had hoped that giving her the night to brood about it would have given way to more logical thought. He realized he was being a guy about it. He needed to talk to Nessa. After discovering that she was stillinher quarters he decided to go see her and left the bridge. Now he stood in front of Nessa's door, and again felt the pang of hesitation before sounding the chime. He wasn't sure what to say. he was having trouble reconciling his mixed feelings towards her. He cared for her deeply... like a sister? No, it was more than that. But she was still but a child to him. He had to get things clear between them. Reaching forward, he touched the door chime and waited for her response. Vanyssa heard the door chime and sensed Sash. She wondered why he was bothering coming now, after all, the damage had already been done. She opened the door and stood in front of it. "Are you coming to visit as Captain Devan Sash or as my friend Sash?" She asked, trying very hard to keep all the emotion out of her voice. Sash was taken aback by the tone of Vanyssa's voice. "I suppose that depends on you," he replied. "I would prefer to speak with you as a friend. I think we need to talk about last night, and that would be the friend talking. What do you think?" Vanyssa thought about what he was saying. She decided to give him a second chance, though she realized that she would give him as many as he needed...she couldn't be angry at him for very long. "Well, I need to go take care of a few things in about a half hour, so how about dinner tonight?" She asked. Sash fought the urge to grimace. He hadn't really expected that. He knew how she felt, but figured it was best to be honest with her. If he were to keep something from her and then she were to find out later, well, that just wouldn't do. "I'm sorry," he said tentatively, "but I already have dinner plans for tonight, with Ketra." Her anger flared up at the thought of Kestra inviting him to dinner. She could feel her face growing very red. She turned around and kicked a vase over, venting the incredible anger that was building in her. The vase flew sideways, hit the wall and shattered. "Well, if that is the way that things are going to be, then, fine. No wonder you were so ashamed of me. After all, you have good virtuous, pretty Kestra. Why are you even bothering with me?" She kept her back turned. "All of your words last night were a lie, to humor me, weren't they? And that kiss was a lie too. As soon as it started to go further you got all ashamed. I'm glad that I know the reason why now." She refused to turn back and look at him, and was a bit surprised at how vindictive her voice sounded. She didn't realize that the voice she had used sounded so much like her counterpart. Sash's eyes grew wide with surprise. Vanyssa was acting more like a little child than the adult she had asked him to think of her as. Something just did not seem to be right about all this. Right now, he felt the immediate need to difuse this situation. "Nessa," he said, "this is rediculous. We've known each other way to long to be like this." He stepped over to her and tried to put his hand on her shoulder. "You know that's not true. You should also know that a I rarely, if ever lie. I'm to old to reember lies. My reaction last night had absolutely nothing to do with Kestra, nor for that matter any shame about you. My shame was purely directed at myself, and I might add, competely unwarranted. I'm sorry Nessa, but there are time I still have trouble reconciling you to the woman you are. I meant everything I said last night, aswell as the kiss." Vanyssa leaned back against him, liking the way his body felt. "I don't know if what you are saying is true. I mean, I can feel that you aren't lying. But...." She turned around. "I came back to the ship at 16...and for most that is closer to an adult than a child - on Betazed, 16 is an adult. And I'm much older now. " She shook her head. "I just don't feel like myself." She said, sitting down in a chair and looking at Sash. "I keep getting angry over the small things, and I'm having wild mood swings. Clinically I'm depressed, which isn't surprising, but I don't know why. And it isn't like me to be this way." She shook her head, not wanting to talk about the dreams that she was having. "I'm not sleeping well, I'm over-reacting... Are you really sure that you want me as your First Officer?" She finished, feeling very sorry for herself. And again, that wasn't like her. "I guess I should talk to the Counsellor, but he's so new, and well, for some reason I have an irrational fear of Counsellors that I didn't have before." She finished. She was still angry with him for having dinner with Kestra, and she had a sinking feeling in her tummy that she knew exactly where that was going to lead. Sash gave a lttle chuckle at Vanyssa's fear of counselors, since she was one until recently. "Maybe you fear stems frrom a personal experience." Then he got serious. "As for you being my first officer, I know you and what you are capable of. I trust you. If I had chosen someone else I probably would have wound up coming to you for advice anyway. No, you were the right choice. But I do agree that this behavior is not like you. Talking to our new counselor might just be what you need. if not him, then I am still here for you. We'll get you through, whatever it is that's depressing you." He rubbed her shoulder a little and it still felt a little stiff. He has given her as much as he could right now. "And I will work on seeing as the adult that you are." Vanyssa shook her head. "That isn't it." Referring to the fear of Counsellors. "I feel sometimes like there is someone else inside me. " She shook her head. "I have work to do and so do you. And I wouldn't want to be an inconveniance." She knew that she should have left the last part out, but she wanted the Sash she had back. She didn't like this new improved version at all. "Nessa," Sash said exasperated, "you are never an inconveniance. You are important to me. Otherwise I wouldn't be here now." After a few more minutes of talking, while Vanyssa did her best to try to convince Sash that she was herself, he left and she leaned against the door, sighing. ~Sash and Kestra~ She sighed again and then went to take care of the couple of things she had to. He gently kissed Kestra's shoulder and she smiled, rolling over and murmmurring something Sash did not quite get. Quietly he got out of bed and gathered up his clothes. He brought his clothes into the living area and dressed there. Thyen he saw the table, still covered with food. He picked up an Angosian dumpling and took a big bite. Even cold it was still delicious. He had to admit that some of the food Kestra had cooked was not his favorites, but he never would have told Kestra. She had worked too hard on the meal. One of the best things about joining Starfleet was that he had been exposed to so many different kinds of foods. Although, to be honest, it didn't rally matter. It was the only way she was going to be able to get any sleep, and she hadn't worked out ina while. The meeting with the Counsellor the night before hadn't been very productive, and some of that was that Vanyssa didn't trust him, so she wouldn't lower her barriers to let him in. She let him think that he had calmed her down, then he had left, and she spent the night staring up at the ceiling, counting the nonexistent dots. And now she was on the holodeck deck of the gymnasium. She programmed in a gymnastics area for the far corner of the gymnasium deck, then walked over to it. Kicking off her shoes and her jumpsuit, she stood there in a shimmery blue leotard. She began to stretch out her aching muscles, then did a forward roll and chalked up her hands. She then proceeded to do a couple of vaults until she was really limber, then went onto the parallel bars. She wasn't as graceful as she was before she had her daughter, and she needed to alter her weight a little bit, which she did without thinking about it. She loved the parallel bars, they were almost like flying. She dismounted, sighing as she stumbled. She had only did one flip in the air instead of the two that she could have done two years ago. She turned around startled as she heard clapping. Sash couldn't help himself. He had walked in on the rogram as it was running and watched as Nessa performed her routine. She looked very graceful, except for the slight off balance dismount at the end. And seeing her in the leotard brought back uncomfortable memories of a youonger Nessa. He had managed to change into a more comfortable outfit for his own workout, shorts and a sleaveless shirt. "That was pretty good," Sash commented. "You flatter me" She said, walking over to him, then punching him as hard as she could right upside the jaw. "And that is for being an asshole, Devan Sash." She said, blowing air on her her aching knuckles. "That hurt." She said accusingly. Not seeing the blow coming caught Sash off guard. He barely had time to roll his head with the blow, and his ears rang from it. Pain shot through his jaw as he took a step backwards. He moved his jaw back and forth a coouple of times to make sure that it still worked properly, before speaking. "How many times have I told you," he said evenly, "that it's all in your follow through. You're still hitting the target instead of through it. Then your hand won't hurt so bad." He could feel the pain disipateing already, but it was the mental force that bothered him even more. "Can I take that to mean you're not happy with me?" "Am I supposed to be?" She said, flexing her hand to make the pain go away. "Who was it who made love to Kestra last night and don't tell me it wasn't you. She was projecting loud enough that every telepath on the ship knew about it and so did some of the ones below." She turned away from him then, and tried very hard not to start crying again. "'Oh I have no plans with Kestra other than a nice dinner.'" She said, mimicking his voice as best she could. "Oh, and I had that talk with the Counsellor last night. He wasn't of much help." Somehow she had ended up on the floor and didn't know how it had happened. She also didn't realize that her voice sounded exactly like her counter-parts. Again. "Well, are you going to say something?" She asked, getting up and walking over to him. Although stalking might be a better term. Sash raised a curious eyebrow. Something in Nessa's voice sounded familiar. But it wasn't from Vanyssa Winters. This behavior was totally uncharacteristic. Was it possible that he could have misjudged her readiness for command. "I came down here to workout," Sash said. "Why don't we have a little workout together. We can continue this 'discusion' while we train." He watched her carefully, and his body began to tense. "Computer, Sash training gym 1." The room changed to an empty white room. The floor was covered in a light padded mat. There were several punching bags and other equipment. "If you don't mind," he held up a finger indicating he needed a moment. Then he began a quick stretch. His body began to warm up quickly as he continued to keep an eye on Vanyssa. When he was done he set himself in a minimal defensive position and indicated for her to begin. "I understand that you're upset. And I had no intention of spending the night with Kestra. It was something that just happened." Vanyssa attacked and he easily dodged out of the way. She lunged again, forgetting all her hand to hand training, and ended up with Sash pinning her down to the floor. She looked up at him, with a wild look in her eyes that he had never seen before and said, "I usually like being the Dominant one, but for you, I will bend my rules." And then she laughed in such a way as to send chills down a person's spine. "And I suppose turn about is fair play...I had you in this position often enough, my little stallion...though nothing about you is little, is it?" She spoke, her voice sounding exactly like the Kestra of the altiverse. There was something about that laugh. And another laugh that rang in the back of Sash's mind. it sent a chill through him. His eyes narrowed as he looked down on her from his dominant position. There was a fire in her eyes that he had never seen before. No that wasn't right, he had seen it before, just not on her. Suddenly his mind shot back to repressed memory. A memory of someone else saying something quite similar. An evil glint in her eye. A long, sharp finger nail tracing his bare crotch, causing his body to react. and then the laugh. Sash could feel Nessa begin to gyrate under the weight of his body. He quickly rolled off Vanyssa in revulson. "What the he...?" Vanyssa got up and ran out of the room, evading Sash's grasp, and kept running, making it to the brig. She quickly ordered the cells to be opened of the prisoners, then gave them phasers. She looked at her counterpart, and said "I won, Vanyssa." Vanyssa's eyes widened, recognizing Kestra's voice, but coming from her counterparts body. "Get your slaveboy and lets go." She said. "I don't fancy being stuck in this reality for the rest of my life." The others were hanging back "What, you think I'd let her get away with killing me?" The personality inhabiting Vanyssa's body "This way I will be an even stronger telepath, and nothing will be able to stop me in the Empire." Kestra Troi - 0625) She hadn't felt this good in a very long time, she thought as she rolled over, since Sky was around. They had eventually made it to the bedroom and it had been late before they finally dozed off to sleep. The food that she had prepared for the evening was virtually untouched all night. The evening had been a lot like the first night that she and Sky had way back when. She also felt that she and Sash had connected somewhat along the lines that She and Sky had. She rolled over to reach out to Sash knowing that he would not be there, but, had really wanted to continue last night. She did however feel that he had left her an explanation probably explaining why he was not there or something of the sort. He suspicions were correct when she felt the PADD on the pillow that he had laid his head. What she knew was that he probably felt ashamed of what they did. She was not ashamed as she enjoyed the feel of him around her and about her. She was not going to be on the ship long, so, there really had not been any reason why to be ashamed. Laying in bed she started thinking of the fun she and Sash had during the evening. Then she thought she remembered having a feeling of invasion, but, she had not thought at the time to see who it was. It was a strong feeling of jealousy, Kestra had thought then, but, did she really feel it. Kestra was not sure if she did or if it was one of her own feelings. Had she been weak enough at the time to let what she was feeling seep out, no, she had told herself. She had at first failed to keep a little from seeping out, but, during the throngs of passion, she had directed all her emotions at Sash. She had intertwined her emotions with his emotions and shared them with him which heightened their passion. She finally decided to read what excuse Sash used for him being gone this morning. Picking up the PADD, she saw that it was flashing, which, she had not realized earlier. She accessed the message and read it to herself, ~Thanks for last night. I'm sure the meal would have been delicious, if we had gotten to it. Sash.~ At least he tried to make his not being here easier she thought to herself as she put the PADD back down and started getting up. As she walked into the main living area, putting on her robe, she saw the remnants of the food that she had fixed for him, which, they did not really touch. As she looked at the table she thought that there were more left last night than that was there at this moment, but, then again after the nights activities, it was hard to remember exactly how much was eaten. She decided to forget who ate what or didn't eat. to clear the table. She started to call up her program. A fighting program, but she didn't call for the opponents yet, she started to do some stretches. “Computer, make the forest a bit more dark an include the noises has well.” [darkness lowered 10% more, noises augmented 20%] Onyx could hear the wind, the branch rubbing against the others. It was going to be fun. She knew that she had a couple of hours, he duty shift only started at 0900 hrs. Now that her warm up was done, she took her adoptive father's gift, a Bat'leth. “Computer, start program fight one.” Onyx did a few moves and walk inside the forest. Nakamura - 06:31) Nishi absently rubbed his face as he walked, he was not a morning person, if he had his way he'd sleep half the day away, but his position as chief of security carried a certain responsibility to keep in shape. Without thinking about it he stepped through a door and onto a holodeck, only to find that somebody was already using it. He was standing in a dense forest, filled with lush undergrowth, frogs and birds croaked and chirped in the branches and in damp corners. Somewhere nearby he heard movement, something pushing it's way through the undergrowth. "Hello?" Nishi called into the forest. In a few moves, she had knock down her adversary and turn toward Nishi, he look like he had woke up at the wrong side of the bed. "Hello?" Nishi called into the forest. “Hello... did you came out of bed? Be careful, I just started the program and there is still 4 holographic adversary waiting.” (Reply from Nishi) "It's on the first level for now, I intend to go higher has I warm up." Onyx turn toward the noise in the undergrowth. (Reply from Nishi) "Yes, it's a klingon fighting program. I needed to clear my head." She smiled. (Reply from Nishi, anyone) (Posted by Laurence Durand)
